How to Build a Cistern Part 3

Finally, the roof goes on. We use wooden posts inside to hold up the plywood circle.
Wire mesh is laid down first,
(we now have a cement mixer which is very helpful!)
then cement is poured on top.
Two days later, a cistern is built! A cistern costs about $735usd in materials. Most families cannot afford this, so we look for funding to cover the material costs of the cistern. We work in groups of 6 to 10 people. Everyone works together to build ALL of the cisterns, contributing their manual labor, $60 for the use of the mold and cement mixer, and lunch when we are working at their house.
